Day 70-The day before we got 2 weeks off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is the 70th day of school. We entered, and we did morning work. We then did not get onto the computers, but we had ANOTHER early session of math. It might be a new routine…anyways, in math, we got to play a game called roller derby. It was fun and exciting. If math can be exciting…so, we finished THIS math lesson, and we had break. Then, since I can’t explain what everybody did at break, we came back to our seats, and we did even more math. Well, that’s ok, because we get 2 weeks Of NO math. Then, we went to Library. In library, we had to do our book talks with the sub. Then, once we came back from the big book room, we did Social Studies. In this subject, we worked in our worksheet thing. Then, we went to lunch.
After lunch, we played the game, and then we came back and we did RTI. Then, we came back to our classroom, and we did some science with our bacteria homes. Aww, this was our last day of observing them! So…maybe that’s a yay……I don’t know…anyways, we then got to watch a video for the rest of the day about bacteria and how gross it is!!!! So, with that said, have a wonderful break/Christmas!

Day 69- The Juanita Sing-Along/choir fieldtrip

Today is the 69th day of school. We came in, and we started morning work, except, there was none! So, we all read, and then, we did math with Ms. McCreary. After our early session of math, we observed our bacteria homes. Some of us had some really disgusting colonies! After we made our observations in science, we headed down to P.E, and got to play games of basketball. Afterward, we came back to class and worked on some more math. In math we talked about our genetics and how it can be predicted by probability. We each made a chart, and asked people if they had an attached earlobe, dimples, straight hair, or a widow’s peak. It was a bit uncomfortable when people asked, “What does your ear look like?” Anyway, at 12:25 the bell rang and we all went down to lunch.
After we all got our energy down to a minimum, the bell rang and we all came back in for RTI. After RTI, we worked on some more math. We have had a lot of math today haven’t we? Every kid’s dream; thank you Mr. Steele!! At 2:40 we all headed down to the cafeteria, to watch…THE JUANITA SING-ALONG!!!! The songs included: The Twelve Days of Christmas (which we proudly took part in), and the choir sang, too!

Day 68-Math with Ms. McCreary

Today is the 68th day of school. We came in, and we did morning work. It was like every other morning work thing, so there’s not much that you don’t already know. Then, once we were all logged onto the computers, we did Type to Learn.  Then, we went onto the Foss website, and we looked at bacteria and germs! And then, we had break. After break, we came back and did the same thing. Once 11:20 rolled around on the clock, we went to music to practice our beautiful voices for the sing a long tomorrow. It was fun. FIVE GOLDEN RING’S!!! Then, we came back to the classroom, and we did math with Ms. McCreary. Then, we went to lunch.
Today was Wednesday, so we played a basketball game in the gym with Mr. Steele. Then, we came back to the classroom, and we continued and finished the math. It was Wednesday, so we went home at 2:00.

Day 66-Bacteria in Mr. Steele’s classroom

Today is the 66th day of school. We came in, and we started on morning work. It was the usual math, science, social studies, and reading. Then, we got onto the computers, and some of us finished the questions, and others did type to learn, and cool math. Then, once the time came, we had break. We came BACK from break, and we did MORE science questions. Then, we went to music. In music, we got to work with instruments. Then, we came back up here to the classroom once music ended, and we did math. Then, we went to lunch.
Lunch and recess came and went, and before we knew it, all of us were back in the classroom ready to get some RTI going. Then, we finished the math that we started before music. Once this ended, we got to do science. In science, we went around the classroom and we got to find bacteria. It was cool. Once we finished science, we all did Social Studies. In this subject, we read about the empires again. Then, we packed up, and went home!

Day 65-Did you know what lives on YOUR body?

Today is the 65th day of school. We came in from the cold December morning, ready to learn. So, we did morning work, and then we logged onto the computers, and we typed up the science questions. Then, we had break. After break ended, we all came back to our seats and we did some social studies. In social studies, we read about a new empire. This empire was named Assyria. Then, after social studies came to an end, we went down to the good ole’ library. In library, we had a substitute, so we got to work on our book talks that Ms. Joseph had planned out for us. When 11:50 rolled around, we came back up to the classroom, and we did some math. In math, we worked more once again on probability. In this lesson of probability, we got to take a test! That’s a wonderful way to end our week here at school. Then, once we finished the test, we went to lunch.

Since it was game day, we got to play elimination. It was very fun. But once we heard the bell ring, we had to go back up to the classroom. Then, we had RTI. After RTI, we all came back here, and we corrected our test. Then, we got to watch a really weird and gross video about what bugs live on us, and what bugs EAT us! Let’s just say the girls were…very grossed out. Then, we packed up and went home, because it was another beautiful Friday.

Day 63 - Trees come in math and science!

Today is the 63rd day of school. We came in, and we did morning work. Then, we hopped onto the computers and we continued writing our letters. After this, most of us printed our letters because we were finished, and we turned them in. It was relieving to have one less thing on our chest! Then, we got to play Lure of the Labyrinth, and then we had break. When break came to an end, we went back to  our seats, and we got to read from the green Diversity of Life science textbook, and we read about trees and other plants and what they do. Then, we went to music. In music, we got to read over the Martin Luther King play. Since that took up the whole music class, we came back to the classroom when music ended, and we did some math. In math, we learned how to make probability trees. Then, we got to go and eat.

After our break from school, we came back from recess, and we worked more on the math. Then, since it is an early release day, we packed up and we went home.

Day 60 - Gee Whiz Everybody Wins!

Today is the 60th day of school. We came in, and we began something I like to call morning work. It was very interesting, because today, teacher didn’t give us the shape. We just had to figure out what shape it was. But, since he said diameter, we ALL knew that it was a circle. Then, we got onto the computers, and we typed up our data for the science experiments, and we put graphs on it. It was like any other science day…so it was REALLY boring. Then, after we did some science, we had break. Once we heard the bell ring indicating that break was over, we headed back to our seats, and we finished the science thing, and then, we did something new. We learned how to find the area of a circle. Then, we went to Library. In Library, we checked in our books, and we worked more on the project things. Then, we went back up to the classroom. Once back in the classroom, we did some more finding-area-of-a-circle, and then we went to lunch.

Since today was Friday, December 02, 2011, we got to have a game. So, we played a new game called Fortress something…I can’t really remember the name, so let’s just call it fortress. Since we earned 5 minutes, we got to leave lunch early, and go and play the game in the gym. It was pretty EPIC! Then, we came back, and we did RTI. After RTI, we came back and we did some reading. After this, we got to do some movie time! We watched some social studies thing about writing. When the movie ended, we did a math game named Gee Whiz Everybody Wins! Mr. Steele got very excited about that….anyways, after we played the game, we packed up and we went home. Yay! It has finally been a full week.

Day 58-The most…SPECIAL music lesson….

Today is the 58th day of school. We came in, and we did all of our morning work, and the, after we were all checked off, we got on the computers, and we wrote the investigation we have been working on, on the computer. So, once we typed up most/some of the experiments, we had break. Then, we came back to our seats, and we worked MORE on the science. Then, we went to music. I will just let the students tell you guys about music. Let me just say, we LOVE Mrs. Frank. Then, we came back, and we did some probability in math. Then, we went to lunch/recess.
After recess, we came back in, and we DIDN’T do RTI, because it was Wednesday, so we got out early! YAY! So, we came back in, and we did some more math, and we tried to fit in social studies, but that BARELY happened. Then, we packed up and went home.

Day 57-Fire Drill Frenzy #2

Today is the 57th day of school. We all scurried in, ready to do our morning work, and we did! Then, we all got onto the computers once we were all checked off, and we worked more with the Social Studies project with the pictures and the circles and the history stuff! Then once we did some of that, we had break. After break, we came back, and we did some science. In science, we did some more of our investigation writing it out thingy majiger…OH! Right, it’s called writing an investigation! So, then, we went to P.E., in gym, we did some Basketball. It was fun…Then, when we came back, we did some math with more probability. It was fun.

Then, we went to lunch. Now, todays recess wasn’t like every other recess. 1 minute before recess ended, we had a fire drill. Now, Mr. Steele had told us before recess, WAYYY before recess. So, we went to the bottom field, and we waited, and we waited, and we waited, until Mrs. Stairs came down and told us we were REALLY bad when we came out! Wow! Now that is what I call a rude awakening! So, we all took a mental note, and we remembered to do better next time we had a fire drill. So, we came back in, and we did about 20 minutes of RTI. Then, we all came back to the class, and we finished those questions from earlier in the day, WAYYYYYY before lunch. It seems like such a long time ago considering we had that fire drill. So, we got crack-a-lacking on math, and then once we finished the math, we started on some Social Studies! In social studies, we wrote sentences on each artifact. After this, we did some Language Arts. In Language Arts, we talked and read about Climbing Mt. Everest. We also talked about diseases and ways to die when you are climbing Mt. Everest! It was very enjoyable!!!!! Then, we packed up and we went home.

Day 56-Probability, likely or not?!

Today is the 56th day of school. We came in, and we got started immediately on morning work. When we did morning work, we noticed that Mr. Steele had only put up the math, and the word of the day. But, since it meant less work for us, we didn’t say anything, and we did finally begin morning work. After our first morning period of the day, we then got the computers, and some of us finished the Climb or Die questions. Once most of us were towards the end, or we finished, Mr. Steele had us all get our computers, and we did the Characteristics of a Civilization publisher stuff. Then, we had break. After break, we came back to our seats, and we worked more on the science investigations writing. Then, we went to music. After science, we went down to the music room. In music, we played bingo. Then, when we got all settled back into our classroom, we began a new math unit called probability. In probability, Mr. Steele taught us how to understand probability. After math, we went to lunch.

Then, once our time off academics for less than an hour ended, we came back to the classroom and we did some RTI. Then, after RT, we all came back to the classroom, and we did some more math. In THIS math lesson, we continued working on some more Probability. After this, we started some Social Studies. In Social Studies, we looked at artifacts. Then, we packed up and went home.

Day 54-Three math tests in one day. Thank you!

Today is the 54th day of school. We came in, and we unpacked and got ready to take the big two day math test. So, we got ready, and when we were ready, teacher passed out the tests. Now, like any test, it was hard at first, but once we got into it, it became second nature. Then, we had break. After break, some of us went on the netbooks, and the rest of us took a reading test because they had trouble on the reading record thingy’s. Then, we got to go to P.E. In P.E., we worked on basketball. When physical education came to an end, we all went back up to the wonderful classroom, and we began science. In science, we worked on writing our own investigation. Then, we went to lunch.
Then came the beloved recess, and after that, we had to come back and do some math with RTI. After RTI, we all came back to the classroom, and we did some social studies! In social Studies, we took at test. Man, today is the day for tests, but NOT the day for us. Anyways, after we finished the Social Studies tests, we corrected it, and then we took the MATH test! Since Mr. Steele is like the BEST TEACHER EVER! We get to take the other half of the test tomorrow. So, after we did 1 half of the test, we packed up, and we went home!

Day 53-Math Review

Today is the 53rd day of school.  We came in and we got started on morning work right away because Mr. Steele was not in a very good mood because of some students not being able to follow directions and rules. Then, we got on the computers, and we worked on the climb or die questions. Then, after got finished those questions, we had break. After break, we worked on science and writing conclusions. . Then, we went to music. After music, we came back to the place where we learn, and then, we did some math. In math, we worked on dividing. Then, we went to lunch.
After lunch came recess, and then, we came back and we did some RTI. After RTIU, we all came back to Mr. Steele’s class, and we did some math review for tomorrow’s big test. We did a lot of practice review. Then, we got to either finish the science conclusions, or we got to read climb or die. Then, we packed up, and went home.
